< 응답을 확신하며 기도하라 >

 

    내가 내 음성으로 하나님께 부르짖으리니 내 음성으로
    하나님께 부르짖으면 내게 귀를 기울이시리로다 (시편 77:1)

 

 다윗 왕국의 성가대 3대 리더 중 한 명으로서 12개의 시편을 남긴 아삽은 질문도 많고 생각도 많았다. 그러나 기본적으로 하나님께 기도하면 그 기도가 응답될 것을 굳게 믿었다. 그처럼 기도 응답을 확신하며 고난 중에도 넉넉한 마음으로 하나님의 때를 기다리라. 기다림이 길어져도 입술에서 불평 대신 감사가 나오게 하라. 하나님은 하나님의 때까지 기다리게 하시지만 너무 늦게 역사하시는 법은 없다. 성급하게 판단하지 말라. 최종 승리는 성공한 악인보다 오히려 실패한 의인의 것이다.

 우물가에서 쌀을 씻는데 숭늉을 달라는 식으로 너무 성급하게 기도 응답을 구하지 말라. 조급함과 스트레스를 버리고 믿음의 여유를 가져야 창조성도 생긴다. 너무 긴장되면 좋은 작품이 안 나온다. 바이올린 줄을 늘 조여 놓으면 좋은 바이올린도 망가진다. 긴장을 풀고 유쾌한 인간상을 만들려고 거울 앞에서 수시로 이렇게 고백하라. “실망하지 마라. 조만간 네 때가 온다.” 믿음의 고백으로 조급함과 긴장을 풀어야 창조성도 촉진되고 축복도 다가온다.

 ‘입으로 말하는 것’만이 기도가 아니라 ‘귀로 듣는 것’도 기도다. ‘행동하는 것’뿐만 아니라 ‘기다리는 것’도 기도의 열매다. 확신은 ‘거리낌이 없는 삶’도 낳지만 ‘기다림이 있는 삶’도 낳는다. 기도와 응답 사이에 있어야 하는 것은 ‘기다리는 믿음’이다. 입을 닫고 눈을 감으면 신기하게 귀가 열리면서 하늘의 음성이 들린다. 기다리는 믿음을 가지고 하늘의 음성을 들으려고 할 때 하나님도 사랑하는 마음을 가지고 사람의 음성을 들어주신다.

    하나님! 기도한 후 성급하게 응답을 추구하지 않게 하시고
    가장 적절한 응답의 때를 넉넉한 믿음으로 기다리게 하소서.

   I cried out to God for help;
   I cried out to God to hear me. (Psalm 77:1)

 

 As one of the top three choir leaders in the kingdom of David, Asaph, who left 12 psalms, had many questions and thoughts. But basically, he firmly believed that if he prayed to God, the prayer would be answered. Just like him, be sure of answers to prayers and wait for God's timing with a generous heart even in the midst of hardship. Even if the wait is long, let gratitude come out of your lips instead of complaining. God makes us wait until God's time, but He never works too late. Don't jump to conclusions. The final victory belongs to the righteous who failed rather than the wicked who succeeded.

 Don't rush to ask for answers to your prayers, such as asking for scorched-rice tea while washing rice by the well. Creativity arises when you throw away impatience and stress and relax due to faith. If you're too nervous, good work won't come out. If the violin strings are always tightened, even a good violin will be damaged. Relax and confess like this from time to time in front of the mirror to  create a pleasant human image, “Don't be discouraged. Sooner or later, your time will come.” Creativity is promoted and blessings come when you relieve your impatience and tension through confession of faith.

 Prayer is not only speaking with the mouth, but also hearing with the ears. Not only acting, but also waiting is the fruit of prayer. Confidence gives birth to not only a life without hesitation, but also a life with waiting. What must exist between prayer and answer is the waiting faith. When you close your mouth and close your eyes, your ears open mysteriously and you can hear the voice of heaven. When people try to listen to the voice of heaven with waiting faith, God also listens to the voice of people with a loving heart.

   God! Let me not rush to seek answers after praying,
   but wait with ample faith for the right time for answers.
