[365묵상] 하나님의 뜻에 충실하라 Be Faithful To God's Will

< 하나님의 뜻에 충실하라 >

    나는 네가 순종할 것을 확신하므로 네게 썼노니
    네가 내가 말한 것보다 더 행할 줄을 아노라 (빌레몬서 1:21)

 

 

 옛날에 아랍의 한 부자가 최고의 종마를 얻으려고 사방을 다니며 100마리의 암말을 찾아 우리에 가두었다. 그는 말들에게 먹을 음식은 충분히 주었지만 마실 물은 주지 않았다. 말들이 목말라 미칠 때쯤 갑자기 우리를 활짝 열자 모든 말들이 거친 숨을 몰아쉬며 몇백 미터 아래쪽의 시내로 내달렸다. 말들이 거의 시냇가에 도착했을 때 주인이 뿔피리를 힘차게 불었다. 그때 100마리 말 중 4마리가 뿔피리 신호를 듣고 즉시 멈춰 서서 다음 명령을 기다렸다. 주인은 목마름을 참고 죽도록 순종한 4마리의 말을 통해 세계에서 제일 좋은 아라비아 종마를 만들었다.

 가장 복된 삶은 말씀대로 순종하는 삶이다. 큰 꿈과 비전을 가지고 나아갈 때 행운에 기대려는 모습이 없도록 작은 일에 순종하는 법부터 훈련하라. 내게 맡겨진 책임적인 자리를 소홀히 하고 “세계를 움직이는 거룩한 큰손이 되게 하소서.”라고 기도하는 것은 앞뒤가 맞지 않는 모습이다. 작은 일에서도 힘써 순종하고 자기 자리를 힘써 지킬 때 조만간 하나님의 놀라운 역사가 뒤따른다.

 믿음의 삶이란 하나님의 뜻을 이루는 삶이다. 하나님의 뜻에 충실하면 참된 만족을 얻고 지혜와 활력도 생긴다. 순종을 어렵게 생각하면 삶도 어려워지고 순종을 쉽게 생각하면 삶도 쉬워진다. 쉬운 곳에서도 어렵게 살 수 있고 어려운 곳에서도 쉽게 살 수 있다. 쉽게 ‘행운’을 추구하며 살면 삶이 복잡해지고 어려워지지만 어렵게 ‘행함’을 추구하며 살면 삶이 단순해지고 쉬워진다. 영성이란 어려울 때도 쉽게 사는 능력이다.

 

 
    하나님! 작은 일에서도 하나님의 뜻대로 힘써 순종함으로
    어려움 중에서도 쉽게 사는 능력 있는 존재가 되게 하소서.

 

 

< Be Faithful to God's Will >

 

   Confident of your obedience, I write to you,
   knowing that you will do even more than I ask. (Philemon 1:21)

 

 Once upon a time, a rich Arab man went everywhere to find the best stallion, and found 100 mares and put them in pens. He gave the horses plenty of food to eat, but no water to drink. Just as the horses were going mad with thirst, he suddenly opened the pen wide, and they all ran hundreds of meters down into the stream, breathing heavily. When they almost reached the stream, the owner blew his horn vigorously. Then, four of the 100 horses heard the horn signal and immediately stopped and waited for the next order. The owner made the best Arabian stallion in the world through four horses that endured thirst and obeyed to death.

 The most blessed life is a life of obedience to the Word. When you move forward with big dreams and visions, train yourself to obey small things first so that you don't look like you're relying on luck. It doesn't make sense to pray, “Please help me become a holy great person that moves the world,” neglecting the responsible position entrusted to you. When you obey even in small things and keep your position, sooner or later, God's amazing works will follow.

 A life of faith is a life that fulfills God's will. If you are faithful to God's will, you will feel truly satisfied and gain wisdom and vitality. If you think of obedience as difficult, life becomes difficult, and if you think of obedience as easy, life becomes easy. You can live hard even in easy places and you can live easily even in difficult places. Life becomes complicated and difficult if you pursue luck with ease, but life becomes simpler and easier if you pursue sweat with difficulty. Spirituality is the ability to live easily even in difficult times.

 

   God! Let me be able to live easily in the midst of difficulties
   by doing my best to obey God's will even in small things.
