누가복음 12:35~12:40

35 허리에 띠를 띠고 등불을 켜고 서 있으라 36 너희는 마치 그 주인이 혼인 집에서 돌아와 문을 두드리면 곧 열어 주려고 기다리는 사람과 같이 되라 37 주인이 와서 깨어 있는 것을 보면 그 종들은 복이 있으리로다 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 주인이 띠를 띠고 그 종들을 자리에 앉히고 나아와 수종들리라 38 주인이 혹 이경에나 혹 삼경에 이르러서도 종들이 그같이 하고 있는 것을 보면 그 종들은 복이 있으리로다 39 너희도 아는 바니 집 주인이 만일 도둑이 어느 때에 이를 줄 알았더라면 그 집을 뚫지 못하게 하였으리라 40 그러므로 너희도 준비하고 있으라 생각하지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라 하시니라 PREPARED FOR THE REAL THING Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. -Luke 12:40 Through the years, quite a few people have predicted the return of Jesus at a specific time. Just last year an American radio preacher stirred up the interest of the mainstream media with his prediction that Jesus would return on May 21, 2011. Anyone who knows Scripture well knew that this advance warning wasn’t accurate, because Jesus Himself said His return would be “at an hour you do not expect”(Luke 12:40). But I do have to admit that this prediction captured my attention. Often I get so caught up in the busyness of life that I live as though Jesus’ return is some distant reality. I forget that Jesus could come back at any time. The prediction, wrong as it was, reminded me about the importance of being prepared for my Savior’s return, and it renewed my excitement that it could be any day-even today. Sometimes when we think of being ready for Jesus’ return, we think about what we shouldn’t be doing. But being prepared is really about purifying ourselves and becoming more and more like Him so we are pleasing to Him when He comes back for us(1 John 3:2-3). Jesus taught that being ready for His return requires living according to our Master’s will now(Luke 12:47). Will we be prepared when it’s time for the real thing? -Joe Stowell Look for Christ’s return and you’ll live for Christ’s glory. 진짜 재림을 위한 준비 그러므로 너희도 준비하고 있으라 생각하지 않은 때에 인자가 오리라 하시니라 - 누가복음 12:40 여러 해 동안 수많은 사람들이 구체적인 시점을 언급해가며 예수님의 재림을 예언해 왔습니다. 바로 작년에도 미국의 한 라디오 전도사가 예수님이 2011년 5월 21일에 재림할 것이라고 예언함으로써 미국 주요 언론들의 관심을 불러일으켰습니다. 성경을 잘 아는 사람이라면 누구든지 이런 식의 사전 경고는 정확하지 않다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 왜냐하면 당신께서 “생각하지 않은 때에”(눅 12:40) 재림할 것이라고 예수님 자신이 말씀하셨기 때문입니다. 그러나 그 예언이 내 주의를 끌었던 것을 인정합니다. 나는 바쁜 일상생활 속에 사로잡혀 예수님의 재림은 먼 훗날에 일어날 것처럼 생각하며 살 때가 많기 때문입니다. 예수님이 언제라도 오실 수 있다는 것을 잊어버립니다. 그 예언이 비록 잘못된 것이긴 했지만, 내 구주의 재림에 대비하는 것의 중요성을 내게 일깨워주었고, 예수님의 재림이 언제든지, 곧 오늘이라도 일어날 수도 있다는 사실이 내 마음을 새롭게 설레게 해주었습니다. 때때로 예수님의 재림을 준비하는 것에 대해 생각할 때면, 우리는 무엇을 하지 말아야 할 것인지를 생각합니다. 그러나 진정한 준비는 우리자신을 깨끗케 하여 주님을 더욱 더 닮아감으로써, 주님이 우리를 위해 다시 오실 때 주님을 기쁘시게 해드리는 것입니다(요일 3:2-3). 예수님은 그분의 재림에 대비하려면 지금 우리 주의 뜻에 따라 살아야 한다고 가르쳐 주셨습니다(눅 12:47). 진짜 재림의 시간이 왔을 때 우리는 준비되어 있을까요? 삶의 매 순간 순간 늘 기도하며 늘 믿게 하소서! 주님이 오늘 오실지도 모르기에 늘 기다리며 늘 깨어있게 하소서! 그리스도의 재림을 기대하고 살면 그리스도의 영광을 위한 삶을 살게 된다.
