If you have something to hide, Mike Slattery may have the solution. Several years ago, a cell-phone company wanted to erect an antenna on his property and disguise it as a pine tree. Mike had a better idea and built a fake barn with vinyl panels that allow the radio waves to pass through them. He developed that concept into a company that builds structures to hide antennas for aesthetic and security reasons. Slattery is convinced that many of his neighbors still have no idea what’s inside his barn (The Gazette, Colorado Springs).		혹 숨겨야 할 것이 있다면 마이크 슬래터리가 해결해줄지 모릅니다. 몇 년 전, 어떤 휴대전화회사가 그의 마당에 안테나 하나를 세우고 그것을 소나무처럼 보이도록 하겠다고 했습니다. 그런데 마이크는 더 좋은 생각을 내어, 전파가 잘 통과하는 비닐로 만든 판벽널을 써서 가짜 헛간을 만들었습니다. 그는 그 개념을 발전시켜 보기가 좋으면서도 안전하게 안테나를 감출 수 있는 구조물을 짓는 회사를 설립했습니다. 슬래터리는 그의 많은 이웃들이 아직도 그 헛간 안에 무엇이 있는지 전혀 알지 못한다고 자신합니다(콜로라도주 스프링스의 일간지에서).
Most of us are trying to keep something out of sight. It may be as harmless as clutter in a basement or as toxic as the moral and spiritual failings we try to hide from others, ourselves, and even from God.		대부분의 우리들에게는 눈에 띄지 않도록 숨기고 싶은 것이 있습니다. 그것은 지하실에 널려져 있는 별로 해롭지 않은 것일 수도 있고, 사람들과 우리 자신, 심지어는 하나님에게까지 숨기려는 도덕적 내지 영적 실수처럼 독성이 있는 것일 수도 있습니다.
In Psalm 32, David described the futility of trying to conceal his sin (vv.3-4) and the relief of opening his soul to the Lord: “I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and You forgave the iniquity of my sin” (v.5).		시편 32편에서 다윗은 그의 죄악을 무모하게 숨기려했던 것과(3-4절), 그의 온 마음을 하나님께 털어놓았을 때의 해방감을 묘사하고 있습니다, “내가 이르기를 내 허물을 여호와께 자복하리라 하고 주께 내 죄를 아뢰고 내 죄악을 숨기지 아니하였더니 곧 주께서 내 죄의 악을 사하셨나이다”(5절).
Confessing our sins to God and forsaking them brings a sense of freedom to our souls and the awareness that we have nothing to hide. —David McCasland		하나님께 우리의 죄를 자백하고 죄를 멀리 할 때, 우리 영혼이 해방된 느낌과 숨길 것이 하나도 없다는 깨달음이 찾아옵니다.

Whenever we’re ready to uncover our sins, God is ready to cover them.		우리가 죄를 드러낼 준비를 할 때마다  하나님은 덮어주실 준비를 하신다.
