When Jason was asked to sing at a church he was visiting, he was delighted to participate even though he wasn’t asked until a few minutes before the service started. He chose a familiar hymn, “To God Be the Glory,” because it was a song that was especially meaningful to him. He practiced it a few times in the church basement and sang it without accompaniment in the church service.		제이슨은 자신이 방문한 교회에서 찬송을 불러달라는 부탁을 받았을 때, 비록 예배 시작 몇 분 전에 받은 부탁이었지만 예배순서에 참가할 수 있다는 사실에 기뻐하였습니다. 그는 “하나님께 영광”이라는 잘 알려진 찬송가를 골랐는데 그 곡은 그에게 특별한 의미가 있었기 때문이었습니다. 그는 교회 지하실에서 몇 번 연습을 하고 난 후 예배 시간에 반주 없이 찬양했습니다.
Several weeks later, Jason learned that some people in the church didn’t appreciate his ministry. They thought he was showing off. From the Old Testament we learn that God appointed people with skill to be involved in temple worship. From construction workers to worship leaders—people were chosen based on their skill (1 Chron. 15:22; 25:1,7).		구약성경을 보면 하나님께서 성전 예배를 위해 기술을 가진 사람들을 지명하셨던 것을 알 수 있습니다. 건축기술자로부터 예배인도자에 이르기까지 사람들은 그들의 기술에 따라 선택되었습니다(역대상 15: 22; 25:1,7).
The Lord gave each of us different talents and spiritual gifts to be used for His glory (Col. 3:23-24). When we serve with that purpose, not to lift up ourselves, we don’t need to be concerned with what others think. God gave His very best to us—His Son Jesus—and we honor Him by giving our best to Him. —Julie Ackerman Link		주님은 각 사람에게 주님의 영광을 위해 사용하도록 각기 다른 재능과 다른 영적 은사들을 주셨습니다(골로새서 3:23-24). 우리가 그 재능들을 자신을  높이는 대신 하나님의 영광을 위해 섬긴다면, 다른 사람들이 어떻게 생각하든 염려할 필요가 없습니다. 하나님은 그분의 가장 귀한 독생자 예수님을 우리에게 주셨기에, 우리는 우리의 최선을 하나님께 드림으로써 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 것입니다.
