< 기적보다 감사를 앞세우라 >

    감사로 제사를 드리는 자가 나를 영화롭게 하나니 그의 행위를 옳게 하는 자에게

내가 하나님의 구원을 보이리라 (시 50:23)

 

 

 기적은 사람의 눈길을 끄는 화려한 것이지만 진짜 기적적인 신앙은 평범한 삶에서 감사의 조건을 발견하는 신앙이다. 사람이 누리는 어떤 것도 당연하게 주어진 것은 없다. 다 하나님의 은총의 선물이다. 병들었다가 나으면 감사하지만 사실상 병들지 않는 것이 더 감사한 것이다. 기적의 주인공이 되기보다 평범한 삶에서 감사의 조건을 발견하고 평범한 삶이 기적임을 깨달을 때 하나님의 사랑도 더 받는다.

 어느 날 한 아이가 친구의 생일 파티에 초대받았다. 바깥에 폭설이 내려 아
빠가 가지 말라는데도 가겠다고 떼를 썼다. 아빠는 할 수 없이 허락했다. 결국 아이는 혼자 길을 나섰고 쌓인 눈을 헤치고 간신히 친구 집에 도착했다. 아이가 친구 집에 들어서자 멀리서 한 남자가 조용히 사라졌다. 아이의 안전을 위해 몰래 뒤따라오며 지켜봤던 아빠였다. 그 아빠의 모습이 바로 하나님 아버지의 모습이다.

 하나님은 어떤 사건을 당하게 하실 때도 늘 뒤에서 지켜보신다. 그 사실을 생각하면서 특별히 감사할 일만 감사하지 말고 범사에 감사하라. 생각을 바꾸면 범사에 감사할 수 있고 범사에 감사하면 상황이 바뀐다. 감사는 불행을 행복으로 바꾸는 핵심 요소다. 사실 지금 살아 있는 것만 해도 범사에 감사해야 할 충분한 이유가 된다. 삶 자체에 감사하면 삶 자체가 소명이 된다. “이 일을 위해 내가 태어났다. 이 일을 위해서라면 내 일생을 기꺼이 바치리라.”라는 소명 의식이 범사에 감사하는 삶을 가능하게 만들고 깊은 행복도 가져다준다.

 

 
    하나님! 평범함 속에서도 감사의 조건을 발견하게 하소서.

 

 

 

< Put Gratitude Before Miracles >

 

 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares
 the way so that I may show him the salvation of God (Psalm 50:23)

 

 

 Miracles are eye-catching and splendid, but true miraculous faith is faith that finds the conditions of gratitude in ordinary life. Nothing that people enjoy is given for granted. All are gifts of God's grace. You are grateful if you get better after getting sick, but in fact you are more grateful that you don't get sick. Rather than becoming a person of miracles, you receive more love from God when you find the conditions of gratitude in ordinary life and realize that ordinary life is a miracle.

 One day a child was invited to a friend's birthday party. He insisted on going even though his father had told him not to go because it was snowing heavily outside. Dad reluctantly allowed it. Eventually, the child made his way alone and managed to reach the friend's house through the accumulated snow. As the child entered the friend's house, a man quietly disappeared in the distance. It was the father who secretly followed and watched for his child's safety. The father's image is just God the Father's image.

 God always watches behind the scenes when He allows any incident to happen. Thinking about that, don't just appreciate what you're especially grateful for, but appreciate everything. If you change your thoughts, you can be grateful for everything, and if you are grateful for everything, the situation will change. Gratitude is a key factor in turning unhappiness into happiness. In fact, just being alive now is enough reason to be grateful for everything. If you are grateful for life itself, life itself becomes a calling. The sense of calling, making you say this. “I was born for this. I will gladly dedicate my life for this,” makes it possible to live a life of gratitude and brings deep happiness.

  God! Let me find the conditions of gratitude even in ordinary life.
