문 밖으로 살그머니 걸어나가는 죄 Slow-Walking Sin Out The Door

 

 

자기의 죄를 숨기는 자는 형통하지 못하나 죄를 자복하고 버리는 자는 불쌍히 여김을 받으리라 (잠언 28:13)

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. [ PROVERBS 28:13 ]

에덴동산의 아담과 하와처럼, 우리는 죄가 부끄러워서 숨으려 하거나 (창세기 3:10), 죄를 짓지 않은 것처럼 행동할 수 있습니다. 하지만 성경은 우리에게 아주 다른 행동을 하라고, 하나님 앞으로 달려가 그분의 자비와 용서를 구하라고 권고합니다. “자기의 죄를 숨기는 자는 형통하지 못하나 죄를 자복하고 버리는 자는 불쌍히 여김을 받으리라”고 잠언 28장 13절은 말합니다.

우리는 죄를 짓고 “살그머니 걸어나가면서” 아무도 알아차리지 않기를 바랄 필요가 없습니다. 우리가 선택한 것을 우리 자신에게, 하나님께, 그리고 믿을 수 있는 친구에게 사실대로 말할 때, 우리는 비밀스러운 죄로 인한 죄의식과 수치심으로부터 자유로워질 수 있습니다(요한1서 1:9).

Like Adam and Eve in the garden, we may try to hide due to the shame of our sin (GENESIS 3:10) or pretend like it didn’t happen. But Scripture invites us to do something very different: to run to God’s mercy and forgiveness. Proverbs 28:13 tells us, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

We don’t have to try to slow-walk our sin and hope no one notices. When we tell the truth about our choices-to ourselves, to God, to a trusted friend-we can find freedom from the guilt and shame of carrying secret sin (1 JOHN 1:9).

Father, thank You that my sin doesn’t have the last word. Help me to remember, as I tell You and others the truth, that I can be confident of Your mercy and forgiveness.

하나님 아버지, 제가 죄를 짓고 끝내지 않도록 해주셔서 감사합니다. 제가 주님과 다른 이들에게 진실을 말할 때, 주님께서 자비와 용서를 베푸신다는 것을 확신하도록 도와주소서.
