Life is a lot like the weather . . . it’s seasonal. It has a way of pushing us into the next season whether we like it or not. And when pushed into the next season, we are often uncertain and even fearful of what it might hold for us.		인생은 날씨와 매우 비슷해서......계절이 있습니다. 우리가 좋아하든 싫어하든 인생은 우리를 다음 계절로 몰아갑니다. 그리고 다음 계절로 넘어갔을 때 우리에게 무엇이 닥쳐올지 잘 몰라 두려워하기까지 합니다.
This is especially true of later seasons of life, when we are haunted by thoughts such as: Will I be left all alone? Will my health hold up? Will my money last? Will my mind stay fresh? As with every season of life, we have to make a choice—to waste the season in fearful thoughts or, as Paul says, make “the best use of the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:16 esv).		이것은 특히 인생의 노년기에 잘 들어맞는 말인데, 다음과 같은 생각들이 우리를 떠나지 않아서 그렇습니다. 완전히 나 혼자 남게 되는 건 아닐까? 내 건강이 유지될까? 돈이 계속 있을까? 정신이 계속 맑은 상태로 있게 될까? 인생의 매 계절마다 두려운 생각들로 그 계절을 낭비할 것인지, 아니면 바울이 말한 것처럼 때가 악하기 때문에 세월을 아껴야 할 것인지(에베소서 5:16) 우리는 선택해야 합니다.
Regardless of your season, you can count on God’s faithfulness. He says, “ ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear’ ” (Heb. 13:5-6).		어떤 계절에 있든지 우리는 하나님의 신실하심을 믿을 수 있습니다. 주님은 “내가 과연 너희를 버리지 아니하고 과연 너희를 떠나지 아니하리라”고 말씀하십니다. 그래서 우리는 담대하게 “주는 나를 돕는 자시니 내가 무서워 아니하겠노라”고 말할 수 있습니다(히브리서 13:5-6).
Because you have God’s presence and provision, you can make the most of your time in every season by following Jesus closely, spending time in His Word and prayer, loving and forgiving more freely than ever before, and serving others with joy and generosity.		하나님이 우리와 함께 하시고 필요를 공급해주시기에, 우리는 예수님을 가깝게 따르면서 말씀과 기도로 시간을 보내고, 이전보다 더욱 남을 사랑하고 용서하며, 기쁨과 관용으로 남을 섬기면서 우리의 모든 계절의 시간을 유용하게 쓸 수 있습니다.

Lord, give me the grace to accept life right where it has put me, and help me to overcome the fear that would waste my days. Give me the wisdom and desire to make every day count for You.		주님, 제게 바로 여기의 삶을 받아들일 수 있도록 은혜를 주시고, 제게 주신 날들을 낭비하게 하는  두려움을 이길 수 있도록 도와주소서. 제게 지혜를  주시고 매일매일 주님을 위한 가치 있는 삶을  소망하게 하소서
