I Invented It		내가 발명했다

Willard S. Boyle, Nobel Prize winner in physics, was the co-inventor of the “electronic eye” behind the digital camera and the Hubble telescope. He was in the market for a new digital camera and visited a store in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The salesman tried to explain the complexity of the camera to Boyle, but stopped because he felt it was too complicated for him to understand. Boyle then bluntly said to the salesman: “No need to explain. I invented it.”		노벨물리학상을 받은 윌라드 보일은 디지털 카메라와 허블 우주망원경에 들어 있는 “전자 눈”을 발명한 사람 중의 한 사람입니다. 그가 새 디지털 카메라를 하나 구입하려고 캐나다 노바스코시아 주 핼리팍스에 있는 한 상점에 들어갔습니다. 판매원은 보일에게 디지털 카메라에 대해서 설명하려고 하다가, 이 손님이 이해하기에는 너무 복잡하다고 생각하고는 설명을 중단했습니다. 그러자 보일은 “설명할 필요 없어요. 그건 내가 발명 했거든요.”라고 잘라 말했습니다.
After God allowed Satan to test Job by taking away his family, his health, and his possessions (Job 1–2), Job lamented the day of his birth (ch. 3). In the following chapters, Job questioned why God would allow him to endure so much suffering. Then with divine bluntness, God reminded Job that He “invented” life and created the world (chs. 38–41). God invited him to rethink what he had said. In drawing attention to His sovereign power and the depth of His wisdom displayed everywhere on earth (38:4-41), God exposed the immensity of Job’s ignorance.		하나님께서 사탄이 욥을 시험하도록 허락하신 후, 욥은 가족과 건강, 그리고 그의 재산을 모두 빼앗긴 채(욥기 1-2장), 자신이 태어난 날을 탄식했습니다(3장). 욥기 4장 이후 여러 장에서 욥은 왜 이토록 많은 고통들을 겪게 하는지 하나님께 질문하고 있습니다. 그러자 하나님은 그분이 세상의 창조자이시며 생명을 “발명”하셨음을 단호히 욥에게 상기시켜 주셨습니다(38-41장). 그리고 욥에게 그가 한 말을 다시 생각해보도록 하셨습니다. 온 땅에 나타난 하나님의 절대적 주권과 하나님의 지혜의 깊이를 주목하게 하셔서(38:4-41) 욥의 한없는 무지함을 드러내셨습니다.

Lord, You are so awesome and great. But sometimes in ignorance and arrogance I attempt to take Your place. I humbly submit my life to You anew and acknowledge that all glory and praise belongs to You. Amen.		주님, 주님은 너무나 멋지고 위대하십니다. 그러나 때로는 저의 무지함과 교만함 때문에 제가 주님의 자리에 서려고 합니다. 겸손히 저의 삶을 주님께 새로이 드리고, 모든 영광과 찬양은 주님께 속해 있음을 인정합니다. 아멘.
To understand God is impossible, but to worship Him is imperative.		하나님을 이해하는 것은 불가능해도,  그분을 경배하는 것은 필수적이다.
