In the spring, shepherds in Idaho move their flocks from the lowlands into the mountains. Thousands of sheep move up the passes into the high country to summer pasture.		봄이 되면 아이다호의 목자들은 그들의 양들을 낮은 평지에서 산지로 옮깁니다. 수천 마리의 양들이 높은 지역을 지나 여름의 목초지를 향해 이동합니다.
My wife and I came across a flock on Shaw Mountain last week. It was bedded down in a meadow by a quiet stream—a picturesque scene that evoked memories of Psalm 23.		아내와 나는 지난주에 쇼 산의 양떼들을 지나치게 되었습니다. 조용한 시냇가의 풀밭에 잠들어 있는 양떼의 모습은 시편 23편을 기억나게 해주는 그림 같은 풍경이었습니다.
But where was the shepherd? The sheep appeared to be alone—until a few broke away from the flock and began to wander toward a distant gully. Then we heard a shrill whistle from above. Looking up, we saw the shepherd sitting high on a hill above the sheep, keeping watch over his flock. A mountain dog and two Border collies stood at his side. The dogs, responding to the shepherd’s signal, bounded down the hill and herded the drifting sheep back to the flock where they belonged.		그런데 목자가 보이지 않고 양들만 홀로 있는 것 같았습니다. 그런데 양 몇 마리가 무리를 빠져나와 먼 골짜기 쪽으로 헤매기 시작하자 위쪽에서 날카로운 호각 소리가 들렸습니다. 위를 쳐다보니, 목자가 양들 위의 높은 언덕에 앉아 양떼를 지켜보고 있는 것이 보였습니다. 목자 옆에는 마운틴도그 한 마리와 보더콜리 두 마리가 서 있었는데, 개들은 그의 신호에 따라 언덕 아래로 달려 내려가 돌아다니는 양들을 원래의 무리 속으로 몰고 왔습니다.
In the same way, the Good Shepherd is watching over you. Even though you cannot see Him, He can see you! He knows you by name and knows all about you. You are the sheep of His pasture (Ezek. 34:31). God promises that He will “seek out” His sheep, “feed them in good pasture,” and “bind up the broken” (vv.12,14,16).		이와 같이 선한 목자이신 예수님도 당신을 지켜보고 있습니다. 당신은 주님을 볼 수 없어도 주님은 당신을 볼 수 있습니다! 주님은 당신의 이름을 아시고 당신의 모든 것을 아십니다. 당신은 주님의 초장의 양입니다(에스겔 34:31). 하나님은 그의 양을 “찾고”, “좋은 꼴을먹이고”, “상한 자를 싸매어 주신다”고 약속하십니다(12,14,16절).

The Lamb who died to save us is the Shepherd who lives to care for us.		우리를 구원하기 위해 죽은 어린양이  우리를 돌보기 위해 사시는 목자이시다.
