Mysterious Truth		불가사의한 진리

Sometimes when the infinite God conveys His thoughts to finite man, mystery is the result. For example, there’s a profound verse in the book of Psalms that seems to present more questions than answers: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants” (116:15 niv).		무한하신 하나님이 유한한 인간에게 그분의 생각을 전하실 때 불가사의한 경우가 많습니다. 예를 들어 시편의 한 심오한 구절은 해답보다는 질문을 던지는 것 같습니다. “성도의 죽는 것을 여호와께서 귀중히 보시는도다”(116:15).
I shake my head and wonder how that can be. I see things with earthbound eyes, and I have a tough time seeing what is “precious” about the fact that our daughter was taken in a car accident at the age of 17—or that any of us have lost cherished loved ones.		나는 고개를 저으며 어떻게 그럴 수 있을까 하고 의문을 가집니다. 나는 이 땅의 눈으로 사물을 보며 내 딸이 17세라는 나이에 차 사고로 세상을 떠났다는 사실에 대해, 아니 우리 중 누군가가 소중한 사람을 잃은 것에 대해 대체 무엇이 “귀중한지” 도저히 이해할 수가 없습니다.
We begin to unwrap the mystery, though, when we consider that what is precious to the Lord is not confined to earthly blessings. This verse examines a heaven-based perspective. For instance, I know from Psalm 139:16 that Melissa’s arrival in God’s heaven was expected. God was looking for her arrival, and it was precious in His eyes. And think about this: Imagine the Father’s joy when He welcomes His children home and sees their absolute ecstasy in being face to face with His Son (see John 17:24).		하지만 하나님께 귀중한 것은 이 땅의 축복에 국한되어 있지 않다는 것을 생각해볼 때 불가사의는 조금씩 풀리기 시작합니다. 이 구절은 천상의 관점에서 살펴본 것입니다. 예를 들어 나는 시편 139편 16절로부터 멜리사의 천국행이 정해진 일이라는 것을 압니다. 하나님은 그 아이의 도착을 기다리고 계셨고, 그것은 그분의 눈에 귀중했던 것입니다. 또 이것을 생각해보십시오. 집으로 오는 자녀들을 환영하고, 예수님과 얼굴을 마주하는 그들의 환희를 보며 기뻐하는 하나님의 모습을 상상해보십시오(요한복음 17:24 참조).
When death comes for the follower of Christ, God opens His arms to welcome that person into His presence. Even through our tears, we can see how precious that is in God’s eyes. —Dave Branon		그리스도를 따르는 자에게 죽음이 닥칠 때 하나님은 팔을 벌려 그 사람을 하나님의 품으로 맞으십니다. 눈물 고인 눈으로도 그것이 하나님의 눈에 얼마나 귀중한지를 볼 수 있습니다.
Lord, when sorrow grips our hearts as we think  about the death of one close to us, remind us  of the joy You are experiencing as our loved one  enjoys the pleasures of heaven. Please allow that  to give us hope and comfort.		주님, 가까운 사람의 죽음을 생각하느라 슬픔이  우리 마음을 사로잡을 때 그 사랑하는 이가  천국의 기쁨을 누릴 때 주님이 경험하시는 기쁨을  생각하게 해주소서. 그것 때문에 우리에게  소망과 위로가 있게 해주소서.
