[365묵상] 자기를 잘 내어 드리라

[ 샘 토프트 : 나는 당신을 평생 기다릴 것입니다 ]

 

 

 

< 자기를 잘 내어 드리라 >

    그러므로 너희가 이것을 알고 이미 있는 진리에 서 있으나
    내가 항상 너희에게 생각나게 하려 하노라 (베드로후서 1:12)

 

 베드로가 베드로후서를 쓸 당시에 거짓 선생들은 기복주의와 신비주의로 영혼들을 복음의 진리에서 이탈시켰다. 그래서 베드로는 자신의 순교가 임박한 줄 알고 죽기 전에 복음의 진리 안에 굳게 선 성도들에게 한 번 더 복음의 진리를 생각나게 하길 원했다. 진리 안에 선 삶이란 간단히 말하면 하나님 안에 있는 삶을 뜻한다. 즉 하나님의 눈과 마음으로 세상을 보고 사랑과 자비를 품은 삶이 진리 안에 있는 삶이다.

 거짓에 미혹되지 않고 진리 안에 굳게 서려면 말씀을 붙잡고 하나님의 뜻 안에 있으면서 끝없이 자기를 비워 내라. 하나님 안에서 자기를 비워 내는 삶은 자기 상실이 아니라 자기 초월이다. 시냇물은 강으로 흘러들면서 더 커지고 강물은 바다로 흘러들면서 더 커지듯이 자기를 비워 내고 하나님 안으로 들어가면 초월적인 위대한 역사가 나타난다. 매일 주님의 재림이 가까워졌다는 자세를 가지고 자기를 비워 내는 삶을 통해 하나님의 뜻을 이루려고 하라.

 왜 세상이 점차 혼란해지는가? 거룩한 자기 포기가 없기 때문이다. 자기가 커지고 자의식이 강해지면 세상의 혼란도 커지고 자기 고민도 가중된다. 자기를 잘 비워 내고 덜어 낼 줄 알라. 기독교의 ‘자기 포기’는 명상에서의 ‘자기 비우기’와 다르다. 기독교의 자기 포기는 ‘하나님과 하나님의 뜻에 자기를 드리는 것’을 포함한 개념이다. ‘내려 놓음’을 넘어 ‘내어 드림’까지 가라. 자기를 잘 내어 드리면서 하나님을 겸손히 붙잡고 남의 뜻을 힘써 존중할 때 진리 안에서 평화와 평안을 맛보게 된다.

    하나님! 하나님의 뜻을 위해 나를 잘 비워 내고 내어 드림으로
    진리 안에서 위대한 평화와 평안의 역사를 맛보게 하소서.

 

 

< Give Yourself to God >

   So I will always remind you of these things,
   even though you know them and are firmly established
   in the truth you now have. (2 Peter 1:12)

 

 At the time when Peter wrote 2 Peter, the false teachers were distracting souls from the truth of the Gospel with blessingism and mysticism. So Peter, knowing that his martyrdom was imminent, wanted to remind the believers, who stood firm in the Gospel, of the truth of the Gospel once more before he died. A life established firmly in the truth simply means a life in God. In other words, a life of a person who sees the world through the eyes and heart of God and embraces love and mercy is a life in the truth.

 If you want to stand firmly in the truth without being deceived by lies, hold on to the Word and empty yourself endlessly in God's will. The life of emptying yourself in God is not self-loss but self-transcendence. Just as a stream grows larger as it flows into a river, and a river grows larger as it flows into the sea, when you empty yourself and enter into God, transcendental great works appear. Every day, with the attitude that the Lord's return is near, try to fulfill God's will through the life of emptying yourself.

 Why is the world becoming increasingly chaotic? Because there is no holy self-giving. When one's self grows and one's self-consciousness becomes stronger, the chaos in the world increases and one's own worries increase.

 Know how to empty yourself well and relieve your greed. Self-renunciation in Christianity is different from self-emptying in meditation. It is a concept that includes giving oneself to God and His will. Go beyond putting you down and go to giving you up. When you give yourselves well, hold on to God humbly, and sincerely respect others' will, you will taste peace and comfort in the truth.

   God! Let me taste great peace and comfort in the truth
   by emptying myself for God's will and giving myself to God.
